The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has opened admissions for PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs for international students. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 , at 4 p.m.
Foreign nationals, including those holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible to apply. Applications are accepted for the academic year 2026-27.
Interested applicants must submit a self-declaration of English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters. Referees will comment on the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English skills.
Admission Requirements
IIT Delhi may require scores from national examinations such as GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE for PhD and PG programs. International examination scores, including GRE and GMAT, are also considered.
Candidates must submit scores from English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.
Admission will be based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to an interview with a faculty committee from their chosen discipline.
