IIT Delhi PhD, PG Admissions Open for International Students

IIT Delhi is accepting applications for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs for international students. The deadline to apply is March 30, 2026, at 4 p.m.

Foreign nationals, including Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) and Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cardholders, can apply. Applications are for the academic year 2026-27.

The application portal is available at international.iitd.ac.in.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must submit a statement of English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees. These referees will comment on the applicant’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English skills.

Eligibility for PhD and PG programs may require scores from specific entrance exams. These include Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE.

International examination scores are also accepted. These include Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).

Candidates must also submit scores from English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.

Selection Process

IIT Delhi will base admissions on interview performance. Students with strong academic records will be invited for interviews. These interviews will be conducted by a committee of faculty members from the relevant departments.
