Admission Requirements for International Students
Applications are open to non-Indian nationals. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applicants must submit a statement or self-declaration of English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees who can submit recommendation letters.
Referees will assess candidates on overall aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English language skills. IIT Delhi will consider scores from national and international standardized tests. These include Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), and Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (DST INSPIRE).
Scores from international examinations like Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) are also accepted. Furthermore, applicants must submit scores from English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
IIT Delhi will select candidates based on their interview performance. A committee of faculty members from the relevant discipline will conduct these interviews. Candidates with strong academic records will receive interview invitations. The selection will prioritize academic merit and potential for research.
