IIT Delhi is accepting applications for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs. Applications are open to foreign national students for the 2026-27 academic year. The deadline to apply is March 30, 2026 , at 4 p.m.
Admission Details
International students, including those with Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible. Applications can be submitted through the official IIT Delhi international admissions website at international.iitd.ac.in.
Application Requirements
Applicants must provide a statement on their English proficiency. They also need to nominate two referees. These referees will be contacted to provide letters of recommendation. Referees will assess the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English language skills.
Depending on the program, applicants may need to submit scores from standardized tests. These include:
- Indian Entrance Exams: GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, DST INSPIRE
- International Entrance Exams: GRE, GMAT
Proficiency in English must also be demonstrated through scores from tests like TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
Admission is based on performance in an interview. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to interview with a faculty committee. The committee will evaluate candidates for their suitability for the chosen discipline.
