Admissions Overview
Foreign nationals, including those with Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible. Applications are for the academic year 2026-27 . The application portal is available at international.iitd.ac.in .
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit a self-declaration of English proficiency. Two referees will be contacted for recommendation letters. These referees will assess the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English skills.
Standardized test scores may be required for eligibility. These include Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE. International test scores like GRE and GMAT are also accepted.
English proficiency test scores from TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination are necessary.
Selection Process
Admission decisions are based on performance in an interview. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to an interview panel. The panel consists of faculty members from the relevant discipline.
