Admissions Overview
IIT Delhi is accepting applications from non-Indian nationals. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Prospective students can find application details on the official IIT Delhi international admissions website.
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit a statement on their English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees. These referees will be contacted to provide recommendation letters. Referees will comment on the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking skills, and English language abilities.
Eligibility Criteria
Admission to PhD and PG programs may require scores from national or international standardized tests. These include Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE. International tests such as Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) are also accepted.
Candidates must also submit scores from English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
IIT Delhi will select candidates based on their performance in an interview. Applicants with strong academic records will receive an invitation for this interview. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant academic discipline.
