Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has opened admissions for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs to international students. Applications are accepted for the academic year 2026-27 . Eligibility Criteria
The programs are open to foreign nationals. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Admission Requirements

These include Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE. International exam scores such as Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) may also be required. English language proficiency test scores from TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination are also necessary.
Selection Process
Admission is based on performance in an interview. Candidates with strong academic records receive interview invitations. The interview panel consists of faculty members from the relevant disciplines. The institute will assess candidates’ suitability for the PhD and PG programs during this stage.
