Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs. Foreign nationals can apply online. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 . The academic year for admission is 2026-27.
Admission Details
The application portal is accessible at international.iitd.ac.in. The window closes at 4 p.m. on March 30, 2026. Eligibility extends to non-Indian nationals. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards.
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit a self-declaration of English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees for recommendation letters. These referees will comment on the applicant’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English language skills.
Submission of scores from examinations like GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE may be required. International exam scores from GRE or GMAT can also be submitted.
Candidates must also provide scores from English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
IIT Delhi will select candidates based on their interview performance. Applicants with strong academic records will be invited to an interview. A committee of faculty members from the relevant discipline will conduct the interviews.
