IIT Delhi PhD & PG Admissions Open for International Students

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications for its PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs. Foreign nationals can apply for the 2026-27 academic year.

The application portal is open until March 30, 2026 . Applications must be submitted online via the official IIT Delhi international admissions website:international.iitd.ac.in.

Eligibility Criteria

Non-Indian nationals are eligible. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards.

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit a statement of English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters. Referees will evaluate a candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English language skills.

Admission may also require scores from standardized tests. These include GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE for PhD and PG programs.

International exam scores are also considered. Candidates may submit scores from the GRE or GMAT.

English language proficiency must be demonstrated. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or the Cambridge English Examination.

Admission Process

IIT Delhi will select candidates based on their interview performance. Faculty committees will interview applicants with strong academic records.
