The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications from international students for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs. Admission Eligibility
Foreign nationals are eligible. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applicants must declare their English proficiency. They also need to provide contact details for two referees who will submit recommendation letters.
Referees will assess candidates’ aptitude, field-specific proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English language skills. This assessment is detailed in the official admission notification.
Required Scores
Depending on the program, applicants may need to submit scores from standardized tests. These include:
- Indian Entrance Exams: GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE.
- International Exams: GRE or GMAT.
Proficiency in English language tests is also a requirement. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
IIT Delhi will select candidates based on their performance in an interview. Applicants with strong academic records will receive an invitation for this interview. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant academic discipline.
