IIT Delhi is now accepting applications for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs from international students. The deadline to apply is March 30, 2026 . Interested candidates can submit their applications through the official IIT Delhi international admissions website.
Admission Details
The application portal will remain open until 4 p.m. on March 30, 2026. Eligibility extends to non-Indian nationals, including those holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards.
Application Requirements
Applicants must provide a self-declaration of English proficiency. They also need to nominate two referees who will submit recommendation letters. These referees will comment on the applicant’s aptitude, field-specific proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English communication skills.
Academic Qualifications
Eligibility for PhD and PG programs may require scores from standardized tests. These include:
- Indian Exams: GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE.
- International Exams: GRE or GMAT.
Candidates must also submit scores from English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
Final admission decisions will be based on performance during an interview. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to interview with a faculty committee from their chosen discipline.
