The application window closes on March 30, 2026 , at 4 p.m. Interested candidates can apply through the official IIT Delhi international admissions portal at international.iitd.ac.in.
Eligibility Criteria
Applications are open to non-Indian nationals. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applicants must demonstrate English proficiency. This can be done through a self-declaration.
Application Requirements
Applicants need to provide the names of two referees. These referees will submit recommendation letters. The letters will comment on the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English language skills.
Standardized test scores may be required for admission consideration. These include:
- Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)
- Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)
- University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET)
- DST INSPIRE
For international applicants, scores from tests like the Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) may be considered.
English proficiency tests such as TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination scores are also mandatory.
Admission Process
IIT Delhi will admit students based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records receive interview invitations. The interview committee consists of faculty members from the relevant discipline.
