Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has opened applications for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs. Foreign national students can apply for the 2026-27 academic year . Admission Eligibility
Eligibility extends to non-Indian nationals. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applicants must demonstrate English proficiency. They need to provide a self-declaration of their English skills.
Application Requirements
Applicants must name two referees. These referees will submit recommendation letters. The letters will assess the candidate’s aptitude and research potential. They will also comment on English proficiency, both oral and written.
Additional scores may be required. These can include Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE scores. International examination scores are also accepted. These include Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).
English language proficiency test scores are mandatory. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
IIT Delhi will base admissions on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited for an interview. A committee of faculty members from the relevant discipline will conduct the interviews.
