Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has opened admissions for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs to international students. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 .
Program Details
Foreign nationals can apply for PhD and PG courses for the 2026-27 academic year. Applications are accepted through the official IIT Delhi international admissions website: international.iitd.ac.in . The portal closes at 4 p.m. on March 30, 2026.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility extends to non-Indian nationals. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applicants must submit a self-declaration of English language proficiency.
Application Requirements
Candidates need to provide the names of two referees. These referees will submit recommendation letters. They will be asked to comment on a candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English skills.
Admission to PhD and PG programs may require scores from specific examinations. These include:
- Indian Entrance Exams: GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, DST INSPIRE.
- International Exams: GRE, GMAT.
International students must also submit scores from English proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examinations.
Selection Process
IIT Delhi will select candidates based on their performance in an interview. Applicants with strong academic records will be invited to interview with a faculty committee from the relevant discipline.
