IIT Delhi may require scores from national entrance examinations. These include Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) or University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), and Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (DST INSPIRE). These are considered for both PhD and PG programs.
Scores from international standardized tests are also accepted. These include the Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT). The inclusion of these scores is optional but can strengthen an application.
Selection Process
Admission to IIT Delhi’s PhD and PG courses for international students will be based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records receive interview invitations. The interview panel consists of faculty members from the relevant academic discipline. This aims to gauge a candidate’s suitability for advanced study.
Further English language proficiency must be demonstrated. Applicants may need to submit scores from tests like TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination. The institute accepts scores from various recognized language proficiency tests.
