Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs from international students. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 .
Application Details
Foreign nationals, including those with Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, can apply. Applications are open for the academic year 2026-27.
The application portal is accessible online at international.iitd.ac.in. The portal will close at 4 PM on March 30, 2026.
Admission Requirements
Applicants must submit a statement of English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees. These referees will comment on the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English communication skills.
Eligibility for PhD and PG programs may require scores from national tests such as GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE. International test scores like GRE and GMAT may also be considered.
Selection Process
IIT Delhi will offer admission based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited for an interview with faculty members from their chosen discipline.
Proof of English language proficiency is required. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.
