IIT Delhi PhD & PG Admissions for International Students Open

IIT Delhi is accepting applications from international students for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs. The deadline to apply is March 30, 2026 , at 4 p.m.

Foreign nationals, including those holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible. Applications are open for the academic year 2026-27.

The application portal can be accessed at international.iitd.ac.in.

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit a statement declaring their English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters.

Referees will be asked to comment on a candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English skills. This information is part of the official notification.

Admission Criteria

Eligibility for PhD and PG programs may require scores from national tests like GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE.

International exam scores from GRE and GMAT can also fulfill admission requirements.

IIT Delhi will base admissions on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to interview with a faculty committee.

Applicants must also submit scores from English proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination, among others.
