Admissions Overview

The application window closes on March 30, 2026, at 4:00 PM. Non-Indian nationals, including Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) and Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cardholders, are eligible.
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit a statement of English proficiency. They also need to provide names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters.
Referees will comment on a candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English language skills. This information is detailed in the official notification.
Eligibility and Scores
Eligibility for PhD and PG programs may require scores from national-level tests. These include the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) or University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), and the DST INSPIRE program.
International examination scores are also accepted. These include the Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and the Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).
Candidates must also submit scores from recognized English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.
Admission Process
Admission is based on an interview. Candidates with strong academic records receive invitations for interviews.
An interview committee, composed of faculty members from the relevant discipline, will conduct the assessment. This process aims to evaluate the candidate’s suitability for the program.
