IIT Delhi PhD & PG Admissions for International Students Open

IIT Delhi is accepting applications for PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs from international students. The deadline to apply is March 30, 2026 , at 4 p.m. Applications are open for the academic year 2026-27. Foreign nationals, including those with Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible.

Application Process

Candidates must submit a statement of English proficiency. They also need to name two referees who will provide recommendation letters. Referees will comment on a candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English skills, according to the institute’s notification.

Admission requirements may include scores from national tests like the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE. International exam scores from Graduate Records Examination (GRE) or Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) may also be considered.

IIT Delhi will assess applicants based on their interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited for interviews with faculty from their chosen discipline. Applicants must also submit scores from English proficiency tests like TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination.
