Admissions Overview
The application window is open for the academic year 2026-27. International students, including those holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible to apply for both PhD and PG courses.
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit a statement declaring their English language proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters. These referees will comment on the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English communication skills.
Depending on the program, applicants may need to submit scores from standardized tests. These include:
- Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)
- Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)
- University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET)
- DST INSPIRE
- Graduate Records Examination (GRE)
- Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT)
Selection Process
Admission to IIT Delhi programs will be based on performance in an interview. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to an interview conducted by a faculty committee from the relevant department.
Further English proficiency may be assessed through tests like TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or the Cambridge English Examination.
