IIT Delhi is accepting applications for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs from international students. The deadline for submissions is March 30, 2026 . Prospective students can apply online through the official IIT Delhi international admissions website: international.iitd.ac.in .
Admission Details
The application portal will remain open until 4:00 PM on March 30, 2026. Eligibility extends to non-Indian nationals. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards.
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit a statement of English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees who can submit recommendation letters. These referees will assess a candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English language skills.
Academic and Language Proficiency
To be considered for PhD and PG programs, candidates may need to submit scores from standardized tests. These include Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE. International applicants can also submit scores from Graduate Records Examination (GRE) or Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).
English language proficiency must be demonstrated through tests like TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
Admission decisions will be based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited for an interview with a faculty committee from their chosen discipline. The committee will evaluate their potential for research and independent thought.
