The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications for its PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs from international students. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 .
Foreign nationals, including Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) and Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) cardholders, are eligible to apply. Applications are open for the academic year 2026-27.
Prospective students must submit a statement of English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees. These referees will comment on the applicant’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English skills.
Admission Requirements
IIT Delhi may require scores from national entrance exams like GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE. International students can also submit scores from exams such as GRE and GMAT.
All applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency. This can be shown through scores from tests like TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
Admission to IIT Delhi’s PhD and PG programs is based on an interview. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to interview with a faculty committee from their chosen discipline.
