Admission Details
The application window is open for the academic year 2026-27. Non-Indian nationals, including Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) and Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cardholders, are eligible. Applicants must submit a statement declaring English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees for recommendation letters.
Referees will assess candidates on aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English language skills. The application portal closes at 4 PM on March 30, 2026.
Eligibility and Requirements
Candidates may need to submit scores from national-level entrance exams. These include Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE. International examination scores like Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) may also be considered.
Proof of English language proficiency is required. This can be demonstrated through scores from tests like TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination. IIT Delhi will base admissions on interview performance. A strong academic record is necessary to be invited for an interview with a faculty committee.
