IIT Delhi PhD/PG Admissions for International Students Open

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs from international students. The application window closes on March 30, 2026 . Interested candidates can apply online via the official IIT Delhi international admissions website: international.iitd.ac.in.

Admission Details

The admissions portal is open for foreign nationals, including those holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applicants must submit a statement declaring English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters. These referees will assess the applicant’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking skills, and English language abilities.

Eligibility for PhD and PG programs may require scores from national-level examinations such as GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE. International examination scores like GRE and GMAT are also accepted. Candidates must also submit scores from English proficiency tests, including TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English exams.

Selection Process

IIT Delhi will admit students based on their interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to an interview. A committee of faculty members from the relevant discipline will conduct these interviews.
