IIT Delhi PhD, PG Admissions for International Students Open

Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has opened applications for its PhD and Master’s programs . Applications are open to international students for the 2026-2027 academic year . The deadline to apply is March 30, 2026 .

Foreign nationals, including those with Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible. Applications are submitted online via the official IIT Delhi international admissions portal: international.iitd.ac.in . The portal closes at 4 p.m. on March 30, 2026 .

Admission Process

Applicants must provide a statement on their English proficiency. They also need to nominate two referees who will submit recommendation letters. These referees will assess the candidate’s aptitude, field-specific skills, research potential, and English language abilities.

Candidates may need to submit scores from standardized tests. These include the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or the DST INSPIRE program.

International examination scores may also be required. These include the Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and the Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).

IIT Delhi will base admissions on interview performance. Students with strong academic records will be invited for interviews with faculty committees. Applicants must also submit scores from English proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English examinations.
