Admissions Overview
Foreign nationals, including those holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible to apply. Applications are accepted through the official IIT Delhi international admissions portal at international.iitd.ac.in.
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit a statement of English proficiency. Two referees should be nominated to provide recommendation letters. These letters will assess a candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English language skills.
Eligibility and Scores
Admission to PhD and PG programs may require scores from national and international examinations. These include:
- Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)
- Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)
- University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET)
- DST INSPIRE
- Graduate Records Examination (GRE)
- Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT)
Proof of English language proficiency is also necessary. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examinations.
Selection Process
IIT Delhi will select candidates based on their interview performance. Applicants with strong academic records receive interview invitations. The interview panel comprises faculty members from the relevant discipline.
