Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs from international students. Admission Details
Foreign nationals, including Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) and Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cardholders, are eligible to apply. Applicants must submit a self-declaration of English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters.
Referees will evaluate candidates on their overall aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English language skills, according to an official notification.
Eligibility Criteria
Admission to PhD and PG programs may require scores from standardized tests. These include the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE. International examination scores like the Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) are also accepted.
Candidates must also submit scores from English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and the Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
IIT Delhi will select candidates based on their performance in an interview. Students with strong academic records will be invited to interview with a faculty committee from the relevant department. This process is designed to assess their suitability for advanced study and research.
