Admissions Overview
International candidates can apply for admission to the 2026-27 academic session. Applications are submitted through the official IIT Delhi international admissions portal at international.iitd.ac.in. The portal closes at 4 PM on March 30, 2026.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility extends to non-Indian nationals. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applicants must demonstrate English proficiency.
Application Requirements
Applicants need to provide a self-declaration of English proficiency. They must also list two referees who can submit recommendation letters. Referees will comment on the applicant’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English skills.
Standardized test scores may be required. These include GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE for PhD and PG programs. International students may submit GRE or GMAT scores.
Proof of English language proficiency is mandatory. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
Admission is based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited for an interview. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant discipline.
