Eligibility Criteria
Applications are open to non-Indian nationals. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Both PhD and PG courses are available.
Applicants must submit a statement or self-declaration of English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees who can submit recommendation letters. The notification states referees will comment on a candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English communication skills.
Admission Requirements
Admission to IIT Delhi’s PhD and PG programs may require scores from national entrance examinations. These include Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE.
International examination scores are also accepted. These include Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).
English language proficiency test scores are mandatory. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
IIT Delhi will base admissions on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited for an interview. This interview will be conducted by a committee of faculty members from the relevant discipline. The committee assesses aptitude for research and chosen field.
