Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications for PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs from international students. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 , at 4 p.m.
Admission Details
Foreign nationals, including Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) and Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cardholders, are eligible. Applications are for the academic year 2026-27.
Candidates must submit a statement of English proficiency. They also need to provide names of two referees. Referees will comment on a candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English skills.
Eligibility and Requirements
Applicants may need to submit scores from specific national or international tests. These include Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE. International applicants may also submit Graduate Records Examination (GRE) or Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) scores.
Proficiency in English must be demonstrated. Accepted English language tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
Admission is based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records receive interview invitations. Interviews are conducted by faculty committees in the relevant disciplines.
