IIT Delhi PhD & PG Admissions for International Students Open

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has opened applications for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs for international students. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 , by 4 p.m. Interested foreign nationals can apply through the official website at international.iitd.ac.in.

Admission Eligibility

Eligibility extends to non-Indian nationals. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applicants must submit a self-declaration of English proficiency. They also need to provide names of two referees for recommendation letters.

Application Requirements

Referees will assess candidates’ aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English language skills. IIT Delhi may require scores from specific entrance examinations. These include GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE for PhD and PG programs.

International examination scores are also considered. These include Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT). Candidates must also submit scores from English proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.

Selection Process

Admission is based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records receive interview invitations. An interview committee of faculty members will conduct these interviews. The committee evaluates candidates’ suitability for the chosen discipline.
