The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is now accepting applications from international students for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 .
Admissions Open for Foreign Nationals
International students, including those holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, can apply. Applications are for the academic year 2026-27. The application portal is available at international.iitd.ac.in . The portal closes on March 30, 2026, at 4:00 PM.
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit a statement declaring their English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees. These referees will be contacted to comment on the candidate’s aptitude, research potential, and English skills.
Specific examination scores may be required. These include scores from the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE. International exam scores like GRE and GMAT are also accepted.
Candidates must also submit scores from English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
Admission will be based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited for an interview. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant discipline.
