Application Details
Applications are submitted online via the official IIT Delhi international admissions portal at international.iitd.ac.in . The portal closes at 4 PM on March 30, 2026. Candidates must declare their English proficiency and provide the names of two referees for recommendation letters.
Referees will assess candidates on aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English language skills. This assessment is detailed in the official notification.
Admission Requirements
Eligibility for PhD and PG programs may require scores from national-level Indian entrance exams. These include the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE.
International students may also submit scores from exams like the Graduate Records Examination (GRE) or Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT). Proficiency in English language tests such as TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination is also mandatory.
Selection Process
Admission to IIT Delhi programs for international students will be based on performance in an interview. Candidates with strong academic records will receive an invitation for an interview. A committee of faculty members from the relevant discipline will conduct the interview.
