IIT Delhi PhD, PG Admissions for International Students – Apply by March 30

Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications from international students for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 .

Admissions Open for International Students

Foreign nationals are eligible to apply for PhD and PG courses for the 2026-27 academic year. Applications must be submitted through the official IIT Delhi international admissions website: international.iitd.ac.in . The portal closes at 4 pm on March 30, 2026.

Individuals with Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards can also apply.

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit a statement or self-declaration of English proficiency. They also need to provide names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters. Referees will comment on the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English skills.

Eligibility for PhD and PG programs may require scores from standardized tests. These include the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE.

International examination scores are also considered. These include Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).

Selection Process

Admission will be based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited for an interview. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant discipline.

Applicants may also need to submit scores from English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.
