Admissions Overview
International students can submit their applications through the official IIT Delhi website at international.iitd.ac.in. Eligibility extends to non-Indian nationals, including those holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards.
Application Requirements
Applicants must provide a statement of English proficiency. They also need to submit the names of two referees for recommendation letters. Referees will comment on the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English language skills.
Academic Eligibility
Admission to PhD and PG programs may require scores from standardized tests. These include Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE.
International examination scores like Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) are also accepted. Candidates must submit scores from English language proficiency tests, such as TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
IIT Delhi will base admissions on interview performance. Students with strong academic records will be invited for interviews. The interviews will be conducted by a committee of faculty members from the relevant disciplines.
