IIT Delhi PhD & PG Admissions for International Students: Apply by March 30

Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has opened applications for international students pursuing PhD and postgraduate (PG) courses. The deadline for applications is March 30, 2026 .

Foreign nationals, including those with Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible. Applications are accepted through the official IIT Delhi international admissions website.

Admission Process

Candidates must submit a statement of English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees for recommendation letters. Referees will assess a candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English language skills.

IIT Delhi may require scores from national entrance exams like GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE for PhD and PG programs. International exam scores from GRE and GMAT are also considered.

Admission is based on an interview. Candidates with strong academic records receive interview invitations. These interviews are conducted by faculty committees from the relevant departments.

Proficiency in English can be demonstrated through scores from tests like TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English examinations. Applicants must meet these criteria to be considered for admission.
