IIT Delhi is accepting applications for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs from international students. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 . Interested candidates can apply online via the official IIT Delhi international admissions website:international.iitd.ac.in.
Admission Details
The application window is open for foreign nationals, including those holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applications will be accepted until 4:00 PM on March 30, 2026.
Applicants must provide a statement of English proficiency. They also need to name two referees who will submit recommendation letters. These referees will assess candidates on their aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English language skills.
Eligibility and Requirements
Admission to IIT Delhi’s PhD and PG programs may require scores from standardized tests. These include:
- Indian Tests: GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, DST INSPIRE.
- International Tests: GRE, GMAT.
English language proficiency must be demonstrated through tests like TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
IIT Delhi will base admissions on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited for interviews with faculty members from their chosen discipline. The interview committee will evaluate candidates’ suitability for the program.
