IIT Delhi PhD, PG Admissions for International Students | Apply by March 30

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has opened applications for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs. International students can apply until March 30, 2026 .

Admissions Overview

International students are eligible for PhD and PG courses for the 2026-27 academic year. Applications are submitted through the official IIT Delhi international admissions portal at international.iitd.ac.in . The portal closes at 4 pm on March 30, 2026.

Eligibility Criteria

Non-Indian nationals are eligible. This includes candidates holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applicants must submit a self-declaration of English proficiency.

Application Requirements

Applicants need to provide the names of two referees for recommendation letters. These referees will comment on the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English skills. The application portal will ask for these details.

Academic and Language Proficiency Tests

Eligibility for PhD and PG programs may require scores from specific examinations. These can include Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE. International test scores like GRE and GMAT are also considered.

Candidates must also submit scores from English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination.

Selection Process

IIT Delhi will base admissions on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited for an interview. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant discipline.
