IIT Delhi is accepting applications from international students for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs. The deadline for submission is March 30, 2026 .
Foreign nationals, including those with Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible. Applications are being accepted for the academic year 2026-27.
Interested applicants must submit a statement of English proficiency. They also need to provide names of two referees for recommendation letters. Referees will assess candidates’ aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English language skills.
Admission Requirements
IIT Delhi may require scores from national entrance exams such as Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE.
International examination scores, including Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT), are also considered for eligibility.
Candidates may also need to submit results from English proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
Admission decisions will be based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited for an interview.
The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant academic discipline.
