IIT Delhi PhD & PG Admissions for International Students – Apply by March 30

IIT Delhi has opened applications for international students seeking admission to its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs. The deadline to apply is March 30, 2026 . Applications are being accepted through the official IIT Delhi international admissions website, international.iitd.ac.in.

The institute is admitting foreign nationals, including those holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. The application portal will close at 4 pm on the application deadline date.

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit a statement or self-declaration confirming their English language proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters. These referees will be asked to comment on the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English skills.

Eligibility for PhD and PG programs may require scores from standardized tests. These can include the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or the DST INSPIRE program. International applicants may also submit scores from tests like the Graduate Records Examination (GRE) or Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).

Further English proficiency must be demonstrated. Accepted test scores include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination results.

Admission Process

IIT Delhi will select candidates based on their performance in an interview. Those with strong academic records will receive an invitation for this interview. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant academic discipline.
