IIT Delhi has opened applications for its PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs to international students. The deadline to apply is March 30, 2026 . Foreign nationals, including those with Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible.
Application Process
Interested candidates must apply online at international.iitd.ac.in. The application portal closes at 4 p.m. on March 30, 2026.
Applicants need to submit a self-declaration of English proficiency. They must also provide the names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters. These referees will comment on the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English skills.
Admission Requirements
Eligibility for PhD and PG programs may require scores from national tests such as GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE. International examination scores like GRE and GMAT are also considered.
Candidates must demonstrate English language proficiency. Accepted test scores include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Criteria
Admission is based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited for an interview. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant discipline.
