Admission Requirements
Eligibility extends to non-Indian nationals. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applicants must submit a statement of English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees for recommendation letters.
Referees will evaluate candidates on aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English language skills. This information comes from the institute’s official notification.
Academic Qualifications and Tests
Admission to PhD and PG programs may require scores from specific standardized tests. These include Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE. International tests like the Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) are also accepted.
English language proficiency must be demonstrated. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination. A self-declaration of English proficiency is also required.
Selection Process
IIT Delhi will select candidates based on their interview performance. Students with strong academic records will receive interview invitations. The interviews will be conducted by a committee of faculty members from the relevant discipline.
