IIT Delhi is accepting applications for PhD and postgraduate programs from international students. The deadline for submissions is March 30, 2026 . Interested candidates can apply through the official website at international.iitd.ac.in.
Admission Details
The application portal will close at 4 PM on March 30, 2026. This opportunity is open to non-Indian nationals. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards.
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit a statement or self-declaration of English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees. These referees will be contacted for recommendation letters. The notification states referees will comment on aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English skills.
Eligibility and Scores
Eligibility for PhD and PG programs may require scores from standardized tests. These include the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE. International examination scores are also considered. This includes Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).
English language proficiency test scores are also a requirement. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination. Other language tests may also be accepted.
Selection Process
Admission decisions will be based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to interview. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant discipline. This process aims to assess candidates’ suitability for advanced study and research.
