IIT Delhi PhD & PG Admissions for International Students | Apply by March 30

Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications from international students for its PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs. The deadline to apply is March 30, 2026 .

Admissions Overview

Foreign nationals, including those with Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, can apply. Applications are for the academic year 2026-27. The application portal is accessible via the official IIT Delhi international admissions website.

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit a statement of English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees for recommendation letters. These referees will comment on the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English skills.

Admission may require scores from national tests. These include Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) or University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE.

International examination scores are also considered. These include Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).

Candidates must also submit scores from English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination.

Selection Process

IIT Delhi will select candidates based on their interview performance. Students with strong academic records will be invited for an interview. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant discipline.
