IIT Delhi opened applications for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs to international students . The deadline to apply is March 30, 2026 . Foreign nationals, including those with OCI or PIO cards, are eligible.
Applications are accepted through the official IIT Delhi international admissions portal at international.iitd.ac.in. The portal closes at 4 PM on March 30, 2026.
Admission Requirements
Applicants must submit a statement of English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees. These referees will comment on the applicant’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English skills.
Admission may require scores from standardized tests. These include GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE for PhD and PG programs. International exams like GRE and GMAT are also accepted.
Candidates must also submit scores from English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination. Other language tests may also qualify.
Selection Process
IIT Delhi will select candidates based on their performance in an interview. Applicants with strong academic records receive interview invitations. The interview panel comprises faculty members from the relevant academic discipline.
