The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has opened applications for PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs for international students. Eligibility and Application Requirements
Foreign nationals are eligible to apply. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applicants must submit a statement of English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters.
Referees will evaluate candidates’ aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English language skills. These evaluations are part of the application review process.
Academic and Language Proficiency Scores
Admission to PhD and PG programs may require scores from specific entrance examinations. These can include Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE. International examination scores like GRE and GMAT may also be considered.
English language proficiency must be demonstrated through tests like TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination. Candidates must meet the minimum score requirements for these tests.
Admission Process
IIT Delhi will select candidates based on their interview performance. Applicants with strong academic records will receive an invitation for an interview. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant academic discipline.
