IIT Delhi PhD/PG Admissions for International Students: Apply by March 30

IIT Delhi has opened applications for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs. The deadline for international students to apply is March 30, 2026 . Prospective students can submit their applications online via the official IIT Delhi international admissions portal at international.iitd.ac.in.

Eligibility and Application Requirements

Foreign nationals are eligible. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applicants must provide a statement of English proficiency. They also need to list two referees who will submit recommendation letters.

Referees will evaluate candidates on aptitude, field-specific proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English language skills. The institute will use these evaluations as part of the admission process.

Academic and Language Proficiency Scores

Admission may require scores from standardized tests. For PhD and PG programs, applicants might need to submit Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE scores.

International examination scores are also accepted. These include Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT). English language proficiency must be demonstrated through tests like TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination.

Selection Process

IIT Delhi will base admissions on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited for interviews. These interviews will be conducted by a committee of faculty members from the relevant disciplines.
