IIT Delhi is accepting applications for PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs from international students . The application deadline is March 30, 2026 .
Foreign nationals, including those holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible. Applicants must apply through the official IIT Delhi international admissions portal at international.iitd.ac.in .
The application window closes at 4:00 PM on March 30, 2026 .
Application Requirements
Candidates must submit a self-declaration of English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees for recommendation letters. Referees will assess the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English skills.
Eligibility and Selection
Admission to PhD and PG programs may require scores from national tests like GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE. International exam scores such as GRE and GMAT may also be considered.
IIT Delhi will select candidates based on their interview performance. A committee of faculty members will interview students with strong academic records. Applicants must also submit scores from recognized English language proficiency tests. These include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination.
