The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is now accepting applications for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs from international students. The deadline for submission is March 30, 2026, at 4 p.m.
Admission Details
Foreign nationals are eligible to apply. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applications are being accepted for the academic year 2026-27.
Interested candidates must submit a self-declaration of English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees who can submit recommendation letters. These referees will assess the applicant’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English language skills.
Application Requirements
Applicants may need to submit scores from standardized tests. These include the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or the DST INSPIRE program.
International examination scores are also considered. Applicants may submit results from the Graduate Records Examination (GRE) or Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).
Candidates must also provide scores from English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
Admission will be based on performance in an interview. Candidates with strong academic records will receive an invitation. An interview committee of faculty members from the relevant discipline will conduct these interviews.
