IIT Delhi PhD, PG Admissions for International Students: Apply by March 30

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications from international students for its PhD and postgraduate programs. The application deadline is March 30, 2026, at 4 PM . Interested candidates can apply through the official IIT Delhi international admissions website: international.iitd.ac.in.

Admission Eligibility

Foreign nationals are eligible to apply. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applicants must provide a statement or self-declaration of English language proficiency.

Application Requirements

Candidates must list two referees who can submit recommendation letters. These referees will assess the applicant’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English language skills. The application portal is accessible at international.iitd.ac.in.

Academic Qualifications and Scores

Eligibility for PhD and PG programs may require scores from examinations such as the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) tests, University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE. International applicants may also submit scores from the Graduate Records Examination (GRE) or Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).

English language proficiency test scores are also required. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination. Applicants must submit these scores as part of their application.

Selection Process

IIT Delhi will select candidates based on their interview performance. Those with strong academic records will be invited for an interview with a faculty committee from the relevant discipline. The interview committee will evaluate the candidate’s suitability for the program.
